Overall, Mailboxlayer is a reliable service for email verification. The SMTP validation and disposable email detection worked well for my needs, and the accuracy was impressive. Delivery of results was quick through the API. My only small gripe was a specific example in the API documentation for a less common parameter that was a bit unclear, which took a little extra time to figure out. I've done batches of several hundred thousand without issues. For millions, you'd definitely want to talk to their team about dedicated resources or a custom setup.

I've used both and honestly, Mailboxlayer is way more thorough with the disposable email checks. Hunter.io is good for finding emails, but verification-wise, Mailboxlayer has been more accurate for me.
